Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from spring of 2023.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 various events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first tour championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.

The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
